Thankfulness.

I have so much to be thankful for. The small blessings are so often overlooked because of the quotidian stress and hustle. That is why I love Thanksgiving. The focus is on being grateful and family. Um, and food. You know I love food.

This Thanksgiving I am particularly thankful for my health, my husband’s health, and my family’s health.

I am thankful that I never go hungry.

I am thankful for my husband and his support and love. But I think I’ve already told you that! Multiple times.

I am thankful for family: that I have one who loves me unconditionally; that they are supportive and loving; and that they help me each in his or her own way.

I am thankful to live in a country where free speech, freedom of assembly and freedom of the press are taken for granted. I hope that others in this tumultuous time remember and recognize that freedom.

I am thankful for the men and women who fight to protect these freedoms for us every day both at home and abroad.

I am thankful for the American Dream. My family and my husband are living proof that the American Dream lives on.

I believe in this Country’s capability for change. We should never stop improving ourselves, our laws and our values. United we stand.

I am thankful that I, as a woman, am free to do anything a man can do without question or fear of punishment. I am not oppressed or repressed as a woman and for that I am profoundly grateful.

And on the lighter side…

I am thankful for my cat, Mini, because she is adorably quirky and like the feline version of me. I’m glad she found her way into my life.

I’m thankful I got to see you too! Her eyes are gorgeous! She was pestering me while I photographed something. Always has to be the center of attention!

You continue to amaze me with your writing, your photographs, your humor, your insights, and your depth.
Oh, and of course, your recipes.
Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with Randy’s family. We leave for Reston shortly.
(I think the Bald Head/American flag picture is my favorite!)

Thank you, Aunt Susan! You are definitely one of the family members that I was thinking about when I mentioned support! You have been here from the beginning and for that I am incredibly grateful! I *knew* you would like that Old Baldy picture! I remember you have always loved lighthouses. I took some other ones that I think you would like of the lighthouse. I can always send you them formatted for printing or just for a screensaver if you want. Love you! Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
