Oh heeey, January! How did you get here so fast?

Did some of those Christmas cookies linger a bit too long on the hips? No? Just me? Or perhaps you just like delicious smoothies that pack in healthy spinach and tons of flavor without a million calories? Me too. Looking to do a total reset? Start with this ginger detox drink then move on to healthy smoothies and healthy filling salad recipes!

It looks like the healthy green smoothie that it is but it tastes just like a decadent, calorie rich peanut butter banana milk shake!

The secret is PB2. I found this magical stuff at the grocery store and haven’t looked back. It’s essentially roasted peanuts pressed to remove 85% of the fat! 2 tablespoons has only 45 calories and there are no weird ingredients. Get out!

This flavorful smoothie clocks in at only 235 calories but still has over 13 grams of filling protein. I’ve been fueling up with this smoothie post workout and powering through the rest of the holiday craziness!

Fuel up without filling out. That’s the tagline for this smoothie, because what self-respecting smoothie doesn’t have a tagline? It could also be the tagline of this strawberry banana spinach smoothie, which is equally delicious.

You can further slash the calories by using unsweetened almond milk, but you will also forgo some of that filling protein. Your call!

Low Calorie Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

Just 4 ingredients! No added sugar or artificial ingredients! This Low Calorie Peanut Butter Banana Spinach Smoothie is here to make your New Year’s resolution a breeze.
Prep: 5 minutes
Total: 5 minutes
Servings: 1 Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened soymilk
  • 1 banana frozen, cut in ½ inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons PB2
  • 1 cup spinach

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients in a blender, Magic Bullet or Nutribullet. I use a Nutribullet because it processes it finer and it’s already in a cup to go!

Notes

If you don’t have, or can’t find, PB2, you can substitute 2 tablespoons of natural creamy peanut butter but it will add 165 calories and 2 grams of protein.
You can further slash the calories by using unsweetened almond milk, but you will also forgo some of that filling protein.
