These simple, Three Ingredient Kataifi Nests are easy, delicious and fast! They are a fun way to decorate for an Easter buffet or to adorn desserts. Fill with mini eggs and marvel at your skills!
Working carefully to try and preserve the long strains of kataifi, gently place some in each cup of a standard muffin tin. The kataifi I am used to has very long strands that you can wrap in the cup to create wound nest, but this kataifi was all short strands, so I ended up having to press it into a nest shape.
Brush the tops with a bit of the melted butter. It doesn’t take much and if you use too much then your nests will be greasy and not get crispy.
Dust with powdered sugar
Bake in preheated oven until the tops are a nice golden brown and the feel crispy towards the bottom. You’ll have to poke your finger in the nest. There really is no other way to tell.
